Simple Aircond HP Calculator / Estimator
| HP | BTU/hr | Room Area (ft²) |
|---|
Based on standard HVAC cooling load estimation
Length × Width × Height gives cubic footage, multiplied by a room-type factor (5 for residential, 6 for office, 7 for industrial).
Each person generates ~600 BTU/hr of body heat. More occupants means more cooling needed.
Electrical devices produce heat. Wattage is converted to BTU (×3.412) and added to total load.
Total BTU load is divided by 9,000 to get horsepower. 1 HP ≈ 9,000 BTU/hr cooling capacity.
