Summary

Associate Professor of naval architecture and ocean engineering. Designs autonomous underwater vehicles and high-speed craft, and builds the optimisation and digital-twin software that tests those designs before anything is built. Has published 80 papers drawing 606 Scopus citations, led 8 funded projects worth RM 2,204,700 for PETRONAS and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and supervised 17 postgraduate candidates, 10 of them to graduation. Founded VSG Labs Sdn Bhd, an engineering firm affiliated with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, to move that research into industry use.
